GYA NFL Flag Football

GYA is delighted to announce a groundbreaking collaboration that will enhance our flag football experience through a partnership with the NFL FLAG league.

With the generous support of the NFL, we offer a well-structured opportunity for kids to explore the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship both on and off the field.

At NFL FLAG, participants not only gain a solid foundation in technique but also have the perfect introduction to mastering the fundamentals of the game. It serves as an excellent starting point for learning catching, throwing, formations, routes, defensive skills, and more.

We recognize that the heart of youth sports goes beyond mastering these fundamentals; it's about being an integral part of a team and, most importantly, savoring the overall experience. Join us at NFL FLAG for a journey where improvement, teamwork, and enjoyment converge seamlessly.

This is a 5-on-5 flag football program for 6u-14u aged athletes. 

NFL FLAG registration will be  age-based divisions as of August 1, 2026. This is intended to create more balanced competition and a better overall experience for our athletes.

Division Breakdown:

- 6U for kids age 5 to 6 years old 

- 8U for kids age 6 to 8 years old

- 10U for kids age 8 to 10 years old

- 12U for kids age 10 to 12 years old

- 14U for kids age 12 to 14 years old

- 18U for high school girls

Here are the official dates for the Gilbert Youth Athletics (GYA) NFL Flag Football 2026/2027 seasons:

Fall 2026 Season

Dates: October 23rd – December 11th

The premier season for GYA, featuring games under the "Friday Night Lights".

Winter 2027 Season

Dates: January 15th – March 5th

A perfect mid-year season to keep athletes active and sharp during the cooler Arizona months under the "Friday Night Lights".

Spring 2027 Season

Dates: April 2nd – May 21st

The final run of the academic year, often featuring the high-energy 18U High School Girls 7v7 league alongside the standard coed divisions under the "Friday Night Lights"
